No Colour Barrier To Miss Ghana Crown

Tags

Any young, beautiful, confident, bold and intelligent lady in any part of the world who wishes to contest in this year’s Miss Ghana pageant is welcome to participate, provided she can present documentary proof of her Ghanaian nationality.

She must also be prepared to shoulder the responsibilities that go with wearing the crown over the contract period of one year, the organisers of the pageant have said.

According to Ms Inna Patty, the Managing Director of Exclusive Events Limited, organisers of the pageant, the perception that Ghanaians who have foreign parentage cannot participate in Miss Ghana is erroneous because the contest is open to all Ghanaian ladies, irrespective of colour.

“For instance, Lebanese-Ghanaians, Chinese-Ghanaians, etc. can compete if they are able to prove their Ghanaian nationality,” she clarified in an interview.

Meanwhile, the organisers have increased the venues for the auditions from two to three to offer an opportunity to beauties in the northern part of the country to conveniently participate in the scouting process.

Beauties in the Northern, Upper East and Upper West regions who are yearning for the 2015 crown have thus been saved the long journey to Accra and Takoradi for auditioning.

They can now report to the Global Dream Serviced Apartments in Tamale on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and audition to be among the finalists.

Auditioning for Takoradi will be on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Best Western Atlantic Hotel while the Holiday Inn in Accra hosts the final session on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.

Ms Patty expressed the hope that auditions would be held in all the 10 regions of the country, as was the case in the past, if her company received the needed financial and logistical support from potential sponsors.

She, therefore, urged individuals, organisations and corporate Ghana to support the Miss Ghana pageant to provide the platform for young, bold, beautiful and intelligent Ghanaian ladies to shape their dreams of making a difference in society.

The winner of this year’s contest will drive home a brand new Citroen C4 Aircross, while the first and second runners-up will receive sleek DS 4 Citroën saloon cars for official use during their one-year service with the Miss Ghana Foundation.

This year’s event is sponsored by Manet Properties, Citroen by CFAO, LAWASH, IPMC, Holiday Inn, Best Western Atlantic Hotel, Takoradi and Unique Floral.

Others are Imperial General Assurance, FC Skin and Beauty Klinik and Pippas Health Centre, with support from Special Ice Mineral Water, Frytol and Forever Easy.
