I didn't receive BET Award backstage - Stonebwoy finally speaks

Ghanaian dancehall artiste and BET Award winner, Stonebwoy known in real life as Livingstone Etse Setekla says the Best International Act, Africa award was received on stage and not backstage as it has been reported.

The artiste who was speaking in an interview with Dr Pounds on Hitz Fm, said the show was pre- recorded and showed on television.

He explained that the prerecording show was aired live on the ‘Lala Anthony’ show, a television show in London and could not fathom why people call it backstage.

“So many people saw me on television, live on Lala Anthony, I don’t know any word which says prerecorded is backstage”, he explained.

The artiste however, said his greatest wish was for Ghana to be on every prestigious stage which has an African category.

“We even want to perform on the BET stages, and even on the GRAMMY stages and any other prestigious stage which has an African category in there, that is my dream and my wish, I don’t only want to receive awards on stages”, he said.

The ‘Go higher’ hitmaker however, complained he was not happy with Ghanaian UK based act, Fuse ODG's comment about the award being presented backstage and starting the whole controversy since he was not present.

“Being a witness, I was there; whoever else was there, Fuse ODG was not there. Because the masses are not there they can say whatever they want to say, but should the artiste also say that? I respect Fuse ODG a lot, he’s done a lot of things, and he knows a lot about this system so the first comment from a Ghanaian brother was not positive for me” he complained.
