Entertainment pundit, Prince Tsegah popularly known as ‘Don 1’ has decided not to keep quiet when it comes to matters relating to Sarkodie.
He has once again disclosed that Sarkodie’s "downfall" nowadays can be attributed to his disrespect to the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards scheme. According to him, whether he likes it or not, no musician can do away with the VGMAs, and that it is the most powerful award scheme here in Ghana.
This and more he revealed on Hitz Fm with Amanda Jissih. He said, “I’ve stated that it seems Sarkodie is fading off, little can be heard of him lately. From 2009, he has been on top.
Now we only hear about the likes of Kofi Kinaata, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, even MzVee ‘he no dey see top kraa’.
Last year was very bad for him, extremely bad, nothing seemed to work for him, even his much-hyped ‘Mary’ album did not gunner more airplay not to even talk of his ‘New guy’ song.
His Rapperholic concert was a success because the likes of Wizkid, R2bees, Samini were all on stage, so no one can expect that concert to be a flop, that concert was not only about him.”
He continued, “What even affected him most, was he snubbing the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards because of which reason, that Charterhouse failed to pay him some amount of money so he won’t perform but has gone ahead to play free show with Shatta Wale at the beach.
His disrespect to the scheme is leading to him losing his limelight,” he ended.
