The Twipop General, Darlington Kwasi Agyekum, popularly known as D Cryme, has urged his fellow musicians to avoid going on musical hiatus, due to the implications it later brings on their music career.
According to the Koko Sakora hit maker, the moment an artiste decides to put his/her career on hibernation, the public tends to speculate the musician in question has run short of lyrics or has stopped music for good.
“Musicians should not go on musical breaks and be like; I’m going to rest small, because the moment you give that space, people feel like you are no longer doing music,” D Cryme stated on the Celebrity Fan Zone show.
“I know foreign musicians who are still enjoying royalties with only one song they have, but here in Ghana when you take a breather for even a year, people will say your lyrics are finished,” he added.
D Cryme further revealed that, he was recuperating, learning and studying the music industry during the days much was not heard of him, but people tagged him a one hit wonder, until he released Mo and got everybody amazed.
Apart from music, D Cryme said he is a C.E.O of many businesses such as giving people creative concepts for a fee, owning working taxis, etc, but does not necessarily advertise his businesses.
“The Gift album is coming this year. I have songs like Mo, Testimony ft. Stay Jay, Dumsor, Koko Sakora, Bonanza ft. Captain Planet and Mix Master Garzy, so if all these songs are on the Gift album, Ghana should be ready. I have also spoken to a couple of directors and plans to film a celebrity-studded movie are underway,” the Kill Me Shy hit maker concluded.
