Renowned music video director Stanley
Adjetey has expressed his grievance about Metro TV’s “Advertising cycle”.
According to the director, musicians
are being charged monies before their music videos are aired on the said program.
Stanley Adjetey stressed that Metro TV
is suppose to remunerate musicians for showing their music videos on their
platform and not artistes rather paying fees to the station for showing their
content on “Advertising cycle”.
“Advertising cycle” is an advertising program
on Metro TV where products are being advertised whiles the music videos play.
Stanley Adjetey further stated that, this
practice by Metro TV is not proper and must be discouraged because it will ruin
the Ghanaian music industry in a long run.
Speaking on Pluzz FM’s “Ampluzz”, the
AFRIMA award winner advised media houses who engage in this practice to desist from
it.
Stanley Adjetey is the C.E.O of Take 2
films and has directed videos for almost every major artiste in the country.
