My Surname Didn't Help Me When I Was Growing Up – Vic Mensa

23-year-old Roc Nation signed Ghanaian hip hop artist Vic Mensa has revealed his surname caused him a lot of problems growing up.
According to the musician who loved to play soccer with his Mexican friends as a kid, the surname caused him trouble since the name meant ‘stupid’ or foolish in Spanish.

Pretty sure my Ghanaian friends will not be happy with this.

Speaking to Real 92.3 in an interview, the musician also spoke about allegations that he had a beef with some hip hop artistes and that he treated everyone around him with respect.

“I don’t do my people dirty,” he says to Real 92.3. “I just don’t do it. So if somebody was wanting to beef with me, they wouldn’t really have all that much ammo. They would have to start digging and making things up ’cause I just keep it really really really real with my guys and people that I move with, that I do business with. They’ll testify I’m a hunnid.”
