Sarkodie Apologizes For GTP Line In “Kanta” Diss Song

Tags

Rapper Sarkodie in a diss song he released on Sunday said ““Obi be dissi me a na ennye rapper a ode GTP ntoma pam kaba” meaning, ‘if someone will diss me, certainly not a rapper who sews kaba with GTP textile”, a line in the song many Ghanaians think is a disrespect to the GTP brand.

These words from the rapper have become one of the most talked about issues in the country aside “Pro Bono” he used in the song, Kanta.

Artiste manager, Mark Okraku Mantey commenting on Sarkodie’s diss song said the rapper’s comment about GTP in the song shows that he, Sarkodie does not understand brand equity.

The backlash from the public after the Kanta song has made Sarkodie’s brother-in-law, Lawyer, Moses Foh-Amoaning come out to apologise to the public in the name of the artiste and his family.
Mr. Foh-Amoaning who is married to Sarkodie’s elder sister Maame Adwoa, described him as a decent and hard working musician.
“When you are rapping and you want to respond, sometimes you might use words like that in a metaphoric manner. I apologise on his behalf to all those who have been hurt because of that line in the song.

Everybody knows that is not his stand, with this thing he is doing, there is an anger somewhere so I would please with his fans and Ghanaians to forgive my younger brother because I don’t think that is what he wanted to say.

If you listen to Sarkodie’s song and the sense he makes, everybody can tell that it is not his style.”
