The Ghana international is hoping to
help his club lift their fortunes in the English second tier after an
opening day reversal on Sunday.
Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew is looking forward to a good run with the club in the English Championship, despite reports of an imminent move.
The Ghana international joined the Villans last summer from French Ligue 1 outfit Lorient, but has seen the former's relegation to the English second tier cast doubts over his future.
He was in action as Roberto Di Matteo's men suffered a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in their league opener on Sunday.
"There were positive signs," Ayew told his club's official website.
"We spoke to each other at half-time about how to improve and the need to play with confidence.
"I think everyone saw in the second half there was an improvement.
"If we keep playing the way we did in the second half in the future, then I’m sure we’ll win games."
Villa play Luton Town in the League Cup on Wednesday before hosting Rotherham United in the Championship.
Ayew, meanwhile, netted seven times in 30 Premier League appearances last season.
Swansea, West Ham, Southampton and French clubs Saint Etienne and Nice are reportedly monitoring the 24-year-old.
