Kevin-Prince: Wakaso Influenced My Las Palmas Move
The midfielder says his countryman and former Las Palmas player said good things about the La Liga club.

Las Palmas new recruit Kelvin-Prince Boateng is eager to get his career underway in Gran Canaria, and reveals compatriot Mubarak Wakaso influenced the move.

Boateng joined the Yellows on a one-year deal on Sunday, and was subsequently unveiled the following day after a successful medical.

Wakaso, on the other hand, played for Las Palmas last season before joining Greek side Panathinaikos last month.

"He [Wakaso] told me that it is a quality team," Boateng said.

"I've seen some games with a modern attacking football.

"That can do me well."

The 29-year-old is hoping to put an injury-laden past behind in his search for a career revival.

"It is a new adventure for me, it's a new country, a new language," Boateng continued.

"The leaders of Las Palmas are the ones who have insisted on accepting a beautiful project.

"I needed a place where I get love and I hope to give my best in a major league like Spain.

"I do not care in the position where the coach puts me. In my mind, I have the first league match and hope to be in the best physical condition."

Boateng spent three seasons with Milan from 2010 to 2013 after a brilliant campaign with the Black Stars at the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa, before making a return to San Siro last year.

He has also previously been on the books of German sides Schalke 04, Borussia Dortmund and Hertha Berlin, as well as Portsmouth and Tottenham Hotspur in England.

With another World Cup appearance in Brazil 2014, the playmaker has two goals in 15 international matches for Ghana.
