Lil Wayne Is Reportedly Angry Tyga Was Left Out Of His Young Money Contract

Wayne allegedly wasn’t consulted about the rapper’s departure from Young Money.

Tyga recently signed to GOOD Music, and Lil Wayne isn’t too happy about it. According to TMZ, Wayne, who owns 49% of Young Money, an imprint under Cash Money and Tyga’s previous label, did not sign off on the Cali rapper being released from his contract.
A source close to the rapper says that Wayne feels his signature would have been necessary to let the artist out of his deal with the label, and if it were up to him, Tyga would still be signed to the label.

This is yet another issue Wayne has taken with Birdman, founder of Cash Money and majority stake holder in Young Money. Wayne is currently suing label head for $51 million, and recently asked that he provide receipts to account for $70 million of Young Money’s $100 million advance. So if Birdman really did go behind Wayne’s back to release Tyga from his deal, it wouldn’t be the first time he pulled some shady business practices.

The irony of all this is that Wayne is doing his best to be released from Cash Money himself, but he’s looking to get paid first, which seems to be the difficult part.
