Self acclaimed Dance hall King,
Charles Nii Armah Mensah aka Shatta Wale has revealed that he’s not
smoked Marijuana (wee) for the past four years.
According to him, it is a personal decision he took and has never been in a rehab to check his addiction to the band substance, adding that he’s prepared to have his blood tested by a certified doctor to prove to persons who doubt his claim.
It is common knowledge that some artists smoke marijuana to energize them and enable them give off their best of performances prior to shows. The likes of former hiplife artist turned Pastor Lord Kenya has admitted that he used to smoke marijuana just before he mounts a stage to perform.
Speaking to Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Starr FM Wednesday, Shatta Wale who stated that he decided to quit smoking becuase he realized there was no need as he’s already hyper when he goes on stage.
“I told myself certain things and I was like I need to continue with my career and I really want to grow up well. Once is a while…that one I will not lie, when I’m in the studio I just want to take a cigerrete and I think that is okay for now, not to do it so much.”
Shatta Wale noted that he’s taken to his songs to preach about drug abuse.
