Beautiful says President John dramani Mahama in his first term as
sitting President has pumped GHC20 billion into the entertainment
industry.
Addressing party supporters on one of NDC’s campaign tour, the ‘Ama Ghana’ famed actor disputed claims by fellow colleague actors Agya Koo and Matilda Asare that President Mahama and the NDC has collapsed the Entertainment industry especially the movie sector.“Someone in several rants says the bad nature of the economy and the collapse of the movie industry has rendered him jobless for years. That is a lie. President John Mahama has invested GHC20 billion cedis into the Entertainment industry”, he told the excited crowd.
He continued to list the good number of works the NDC government has done and offered for the Creative Arts Industry.
“President Mahama in his effort in making the movie industry lucrative just like America, Nigeria and South Africa’s, Mahama through the creative arts industry has sponsored about 70 percent of our movie stars to travel outside the country to equip themselves with deep knowledge and learn ways to upgrade the movie industry.
Not only that, Mr Mahama since the beginning of his presidency has been taking very good care of veteran musicians and music stars in their old age”, he added.
In other reports, Mr Beautiful was quoted to have attributed the collapse of the Kumawood movie industry to unprofessional acts.
