Sarkodie prepares to release his fifth solo album The Highest
in coming months, and though it is already highly anticipated, he wastes
no time to moisten the ground more before unveiling the record proper.
Trumpet, Just in Case, and Kokooko have all been released as path-clearing singles, and the BET laureate (born Michael Owusu Addo) is set to release a new one titled Painkiller, which is already gaining enormous traction on Twitter since word came out about its release.
“The Highest” is an accolade he has been referred to by, in the past few months, especially on social media. It is not necessarily surprising therefore, that he has settled on that as title for his forthcoming album.
Recipient of several local and international awards including the prestigious BET Best International Act: Africa in 2012, Sarkodie has released Makye (2009), Rapperholic (2012), Sarkology (2014), Mary (2015), as well as the joint album TMG with producer Jayso in 2013.
