I’m Not Surprised Yaa Pono 'Outclassed‘ Shatta Wale - Samini
Multiple award-winning dancehall artiste, Samini has commended the CEO of Uptown Energy Record Label, Yaa Pono for being acclaimed the winner of the rap battle against the self-proclaimed Dancehall, King Shata Wale.
The beef between Yaa Pono and Shatta Wale began when the former was prevented from performing at a show at the Cape Coast Stadium where Shatta Wale was the headline act.

Yaa Pono later suggested in the media he was not allowed to come on stage because he would have outshined Shatta Wale.

But Samini in an interview on Hitz FM disclosed that, he had listened carefully to Yaa Pono’s song and there emerges no doubt he is a wonderful lyricists when it comes to poetry – word play, hence the reason why he wasn’t surprised he went in hard on Shata Wale.

“Beef is beef and when it comes on, you should know how to control yourself to constructively respond to defend your utterances everywhere you go. I have heard Yaa Pono’s version. I think he went very hard. The Yaa Pono I know and the lyrics I heard, I wasn’t surprised and I believe the opposite camp as well don’t play when it comes to these things…” he told show host Kleff Maxwell Justice (KMJ) on Hitz FM's morning show Daybreak Hit Wednesday.

Nevertheless, the former brand ambassador of MTN further stated that he is not against the feud coming from both camps but he hopes the two musicians would firm up their lyrics to boost the heat of the beef in order to excite their fans to acknowledge their lyrical self-defense when it comes to poetry respectively.

“I think they should firm up the lyrics and keep the beef tight so the fans can be excited to appreciate dexterity and lyrical self-defense when it comes to poetry. I don’t have anything against you feeling some type of way and expressing it in a song. What I pray for is no violence. I don’t advice and condone lies and fabrication in beef songs, you need to make sure you’re speaking the truth so that you can defend yourself when it’s due…” he said.
