 Stephen Appiah To Be Named Black Stars Team Manager
YEN.com.gh understands that the Ghana Football Association is set to appoint former Ghana and Juventus midfielder, Stephen Appiah, as team manager of the senior national team, the Black Stars.
Appiah will replace former the team manager, Saban Quaye, who has been relieved of his post.

The 36-year-old captained Ghana to her first world cup qualification in 2006. He represented Ghana at the Germany 2006 World Cup and the South Africa 2010 World Cup.

Appiah, who is nicknamed tornado, is considered one of Ghana's greatest players of all-time and is held in high esteem by the majority of Ghanaians.

He will join a new Black Stars technical team that has Kwasi Appiah as coach, Maxwell Konadu and Ibrahim Tanko as assistant coaches and Richard Kingson as goalkeepers' trainer.

The GFA confirmed Kwasi Appiah's appointment on Tuesday, saying that he was selected by its six-man coaching search committee.

Appiah will be handed a two-year contract and will start his duties on 1st May, 2017, YEN.com.gh can report. He will also take full charge of the Local Black Stars.
