Reward Police To Stop Them From Begging Criminals - Afia Schwarzenegger To Prez
TV personality Afia Schwarzenegger has penned a long letter to President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo alleging that police officers are under motivated unlike the military thus the prevalence of corruption in the Ghana Police Service.
Referring to the recent event involving a police man who was mistakenly shot by his own colleagues after foiling an armed robbery plot, she noted that the GHc 10,000 compensation to the widow and children was woefully inadequate.

She said, “I would like to thank you for honouring my dear Major Max Mahama and giving him the farewell he deserves as a statesman...may his gentle soul rest with the lord..Amen

“Mr president, maybe your busy schedule hasn't permitted you to be briefed about a certain lance corporal who lost his life protecting over 20 Ghanaians in a bus...and permit me to congratulate the IGP for sending GHC10,000 to the widow and children… Really?

She established that the police force who are tasked to protect the citizenry are paid meager salaries; one of the many reasons why they (Policemen) tend to accept bribes from all manner of people including criminals.

“…Mr President, you promised to fight corruption but do you now understand why our men in black are so corrupt?” she asked in the letter she posted on her Instagram Page.

Dear Mr President,

I would like to thank you for honouring my dear Major Max Mahama and giving him the farewell he deserves as a statesman...may his gentle soul rest with the lord..Amen

Mr president, maybe your busy schedule hasn't permitted you to be briefed about a certain lance corporal who lost his life protecting over 20 Ghanaians in a bus...and oh permit me to congratulate the IGP for sending GHC10,000 to the widow and children… Really?

Mr President, you promised to fight corruption but do you now understand why our men in black are so corrupt?

If one is buried as a hero and other as a common criminal…hmmm. And why is the police force boasting of that GHc10,000 when this man was actually shot by his own colleagues.

If we want our police force to be disciplined like our military men, then we better treat them equally.

I bet a lot of Ghanaians don’t even know the name of the fallen police man, I bet you don’t know that his church had to do "Kofi and Ama" in other to convey the body from Kintampo to his hometown.

Mr President, the lance corporal's widow deserves more than GHc 10,000 his children deserve better and the Ghana police force deserve better.

To end mob injustice, we need to trust the police but a hungry man, is an angry man...if we don’t treat them well they won’t stop begging criminals for money.

Thank you for taking time to read the truth...My name is Afia Schwarzenegger...And i stand for equality before the law.

Good evening Ghana!
