Ghanaian hiplife musician, Gasmilla known for hit songs like “Aboodatoi“, “Telemo” and many others did not pass his Basic Education Certificate Examination, BECE. The artiste known in private life as Odartei Milla Lamptey at the press launch of his upcoming kids event, “Gasmilla Father Christmas Show” revealed his grade during his final exams at JHS and SHS.
“About being brilliant, I had 24 in my BECE and when I got to form 2 in Wesley Grammar I wrote my Nov/Dec and I had 8 and from there I had 10 to the university.”

This was an answer to a question blogger asked in relation to the criteria for awarding scholarship to the brilliant student at “Gasmilla Father Christmas Show” slated for December 26 at the Efua Sutherland Park in Accra.

Gasmilla further added that “what I’m saying is, you cannot determine who a brilliant kid is from their younger stage. Somebody is dumb from the onset but the person grows up to become a very wise person.”

Me, I didn’t see the essence of education, I believed I had the talent so I didn’t need education. Growing up, that changed because I had a mother that will give me everything to pull me through school ad that changed the way I thought and that is what has made me who I am today”

Gasmilla is an alumnus of Wesley Grammar and the Institute of Professional Studies now University of Professional Studies.
