First Avenue International in collaboration with
Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) Biotechnology and Nuclear Agriculture
Research Institute (BNARI), National Tropical Botanical Garden, Global
Breadfruit, Agrivida Support and Government of Ghana (GoG) is organizing an
informational and awareness workshop on the breadfruit plant for Stakeholders
on June 9th, 2017 at the University of
Ghana-Atomic Campus, Conference Hall in the School of Allied and Nuclear
Sciences, Accra. The program will start at 10:00am and close by 5:00pm.
To date, the Africa Breadfruit Initiative has provided
over 3,000 seedlings to partners in Ghana. The purpose of the workshop is to
discuss best practices for agricultural productivity, highlight ongoing market
efforts in the region and analyze economic possibilities of breadfruit for
Ghana. The workshop will also serve as a platform to solicit inputs and
feedback from local stakeholders as well as catalyze the formation of an
in-country working group to ensure effective implementation of the initiative.
Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided
for all participants at no cost. Participants are responsible for their travel,
accommodations and any salary loss unless otherwise pre-arranged.
This letter serves as an official invitation. We
strongly believe in the potential of breadfruit to combat food insecurity and
provide diversified economic possibilities in Africa and other developing
regions in the world. We hope that you will join us in our efforts and
participate in this workshop.
