Michael Essien retuned to Chelsea for some gym work and paid a visit to compatriot Christian Atsu at Chelsea on Wednesday.
He spent some time at Chelsea's Cobham Training Centre to kick start his personal pre-season as he searches for a new club.
Essien had a troubled spell at Greek side Panathinaikos and has been left out of the team’s squad.
His visit excited Atsu who took to Twitter to post: 'Good to see you bro @christianatsu and good luck to you this season. I can't believe you beat me at table tennis today. I'm coming back for revenge#Visit#cobham#Gh'
