Without a doubt, Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah is currently the biggest and most sought after Ghanaian musician. Noted for unending controversies, the dancehall kingpin has within the last five years cemented his place in the African music space as the King of African Dancehall.

The multiple award winning musician popularly referred to as “Country Boss” by his fans across the continent together with his management is in the process of making Dancehall music from Africa more popular and taking his brand to the next level – tapping into the Caribbean music scene and making his music relevant in that space.

Shatta Wale has for some time now has been working with top Jamaican producer, Notnice Records, who produced a song (titled “Like A King”) on his recently released twenty-three track album “After The Storm”. He also featured on the remix of Alkaline’s hit song “It’s All About The Money” which has been receiving heavy rotations globally.

About his ambition to take his music to the next level, Shatta said “I think I have done a lot in Ghana and there is a need to penetrate into certain strategic markets across the African continent and the rest of the world. The focus now is the Caribbean and how to make an impact there with my music. There will be some collaborations with some of the best musicians in the dancehall fraternity as well as appearances at some key events going forward. That is the direction I am taking with my music at the moment”.

For this reason, Shatta Wale on facebook a few months ago announced the appointment of a Shatta Movement agent, Kimberly Campbell, for the Caribbean and responsible for all Shatta Wale’s activities in Jamaica, Cuba and the Netherlands.

“Ms. Campbell is a known music executive who has a lot to offer and I am excited we are currently working with her. She has been instrumental in my yet to be released project with Shawn Storm, the right hand man of the biggest Dancehall musician of our time, the World Boss Vybz Kartel, of the famous Gaza Empire. This is a song that I know will be loved by all dancehall lovers around the globe and I cannot wait for its commercial release in the coming weeks. This is certainly going to signify the beginning of other projects with the Gaza Empire going forward and other great musicians in the dancehall fraternity”, Shatta Wale revealed.

According to the African Dancehall King, plans are underway for Team Shatta Movement to embark on a trip to Jamaica in the coming months to engage some key music stakeholders and also complete some ongoing projects.
